We care for those with physical injuries from a road incident, but we rarely consider the mental toll road trauma can take.

At mycar, we care about cars, but we put people first, which is why we've launched Return Plates (R Plates). A plate to recognise drivers returning to the road.

The R Plate signifies to other road users that the driver may need some extra care, giving them time and space to recover. Recovering drivers can return to the road feeling like they are in a supportive space.

If you've been impacted by trauma on the road, you can seek professional support services.

“Returning to the road can be a scary and nerve-wracking experience, so even just having those feelings recognised could help people to recover faster.”

Pledge your support

Our ambition is to have R Plates adopted and recognised nationwide. Help us gain government regulator support for the initiative by signing the pledge.

How can I help?

If you have, or someone you know has, been impacted by road trauma, refer to this page to get R Plates or to access professional support services.

If you see an R Plate on a car, know that someone is bravely returning to the road and treat them with empathy, respect and extra care.

The greatest help of all would be to have R Plates recognised on Australian roads. Please take the pledge to help mycar gain government regulator support.
